FAQS

Can the tattoo change colour on cloudy days?

Yes. UV radiation can still reach the skin on cloudy or cooler days, so the tattoo may change colour even when the sun does not feel strong.

Should I apply sunscreen over the tattoo?

Apply the tattoo to clean, dry skin and allow it to set fully. Sunscreen can then be applied around and over the area as part of your usual sun-protection routine. The tattoo may still appear purple while sunscreen is being worn because it responds to UV exposure rather than measuring how much sunscreen remains on the skin.

Do the tattoos replace sunscreen?

No. UV Sensor Temporary Tattoos are a visual sun-safety reminder only. They do not provide sun protection and should always be used alongside sunscreen, protective clothing, a hat, sunglasses and shade.

Are they suitable for children?

Yes. Oze Sun UV Sensor Temporary Tattoos are designed for children and families to make sun safety more fun and visible. Apply them only to clean, healthy skin and avoid broken, irritated or highly sensitive areas. Adult supervision is recommended when cutting out and applying the tattoo.

Do the tattoos tell me when my sunscreen has worn off?

No. The tattoo reacts to UV exposure and changes to purple in sunlight, but it does not directly measure how much sunscreen remains on the skin.

The tattoo may still appear purple while sunscreen is applied. Use it as a visual reminder to regularly check your sun protection and reapply sunscreen according to the sunscreen directions—especially after swimming, sweating or towel drying.

How long do they last for?

They are temporary and may last for approximately one to three days, depending on the skin, placement, swimming, rubbing and bathing. For the clearest UV response, we recommend using a fresh tattoo for each day of outdoor activity.

Are they waterproof

They are water-resistant once fully applied and dried, so they can be worn during swimming and outdoor play. Repeated swimming, rubbing, soap, towels and prolonged water exposure may cause the tattoo to fade or lift sooner.

How do I remove one?

Gently rub the tattoo with baby oil, coconut oil or an oil-based cleanser, then wipe it away with a soft cloth. You can also use warm soapy water and gently rub the area. Avoid harsh scrubbing, particularly on children’s skin.
